Chamber Mentoring for International Growth

Chamber Mentoring for International Growth is an initiative promoted by Unioncamere, coordinated by Assocamerestero and realized in collaboration with the Italian Chamber System and the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad.The project offers a selected group of Italian companies the opportunity to benefit, free of charge, from the support of a Mentor or an expert represented by a qualified manager or by a successful Italian entrepreneur operating abroad selected by the Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad.

These are professionals of Italian origin who live and work abroad and have maintained professional and personal contacts with Italy who wish to enrich further through the project; they are responsible or entrepreneurs in innovative service or production companies and present in foreign markets; they have successful experiences in various business areas — marketing, production, communication; they are profound connoisseurs of the country and the market in which they operate and come from international experiences; they joined the project on a voluntary basis, driven solely by the desire to share their experience for the benefit of an entrepreneur or a manager of an Italian company open to exchange and confrontation.

Italian entrepreneurs and managers that the Chamber Mentoring project intends to select are the future Mentees of the project: they play decision-making roles in their company, they are addressing corporate challenges of internationalization, market, development and innovation, they want to open up to an “equal confrontation” to share their challenges with a Mentor , want to discover specific aspects of the foreign market in which the Mentor operates, are ready to learn from the experience of the Mentor, working together with a concrete development plan .

Mentor and Mentee will talk “at a distance”, for30 hours , over a period of time that runs from October 2017 to May 2018, according to times and ways that they themselves will define. with the concrete objective of defining together a useful work plan for the Italian beneficiary company (the Mentee company).A work plan that will cover productive, commercial or organizational aspects in the market and in the areas of which the mentor is expert.

More than 50 institutions of the Italian Chamber of Commerce have joined the initiative and are engaged in the pre-selection of a group of managers and entrepreneurs interested and motivated, of companies with opening and a propensity for innovation.

To join the project candidates must fill in a special “online application form” available at www.chambermentoring.it.The final selection of companies that will benefit from the mentoring activity will be made by the Mentors of the chosen foreign territory, each of which will choose the company who will follow.
